About Me
Mary Kay Heldman is a board-certified licensed social worker. Born in Mexico and raised in Puerto Rico, Mary Kay is bilingual in Spanish and has a passion for enhancing healthy communities for all. Mary Kay is also a social work professor for the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She teaches courses on
grief and loss and social work with Immigrants and refugees. Mary Kay supports the Early Motor Development Clinic, Complex Care and outpatient pediatric physicians’ clinic at Shirley Ryan 秘密研究所. She also facilitates the Spanish caregiver support group to provide education, support and a means to connect with other parents with disabilities.
